Sunrise Home, located in Bobbili, right on the edge of the city, is an orphanage with an urgent need.

Cramped sleeping quarters in the girls' bedroom
The building is leased, the current conditions are very cramped and simply far from satisfactory. There are over 65 children living in this orphanage and they all have an urgent need.
CEO, Jim Rennie, says that the children are healthy, the home is clean, but the students are very crowded. The land opposite the home is a polluted rubbish area where village people go to the toilet. Mosquitoes, scorpions and snakes are a constant worry. Each day-student has to walk through the busy streets of Bobbili to get to school. These beautiful children, plus 100 more, urgently need a new home. Just a few weeks ago another child was left at the door.
Finding orphans is not difficult.
Asian Aid has purchased a beautiful parcel of land outside the city where a new home will be built for 160 children. The project will need a border fence, a road, accommodation for 160 children and staff quarters in Phase One. The land is paid for but a further US$300,000 is urgently required to complete this project.

Worship in the bedroom as they don't have a Worship Room
One day the film team took the children for a picnic on the land. They had special treats of ice-cream, games and a swim in the river. This outing was the most exciting thing in their lives. "Seeing their smiles and knowing the home conditions to which they would return made me shed a tear and become even more determined to finish this critical project" Jim said.
